Note: This was a very difficult section to transcribe. It contains all names and dates of those in the Regiment. Many of the pages are faint and some are almost impossible to read.
 
A lot of care has been taken on the accuracy of these names. Once transcribed they were checked against the Listings online for the 8th Michigan Regiment, and if not found there, were checked against the Civil War Soldiers and Sailors System. Please remember though not all names are listed in these sites yet, and there were a few names I could not find at either place. Those names should list beside them that they were not found.
 
All names are as they appear in the diary. Corrections or alterations found to the spellings, were set in parenthesis after the name.
 
The diary was usually listed with last name first. However, Officers were an exception, and list first names first, as were most the names in the added in sections. This makes for difficult searching on a name, so it is advised you use your Ctrl+F keys to locate a desired person. A lot of names were found with alternate spellings, so it should make it easier to find, depending on how you spell it.
